We open our 76th season with music from the illustrious Bach family, giving lovers of Johann Sebastian a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating 17th-century world of this family of musicians. Exploring the works of no fewer than six of Bach’s ancestors, this rich program highlights the intense music of Johann Christoph, revered by Johann Sebastian as a “profound composer.” The program also includes sparkling polychoral gems for which the SFBC is known.
