My soul extols the Lord, |
| 2. Soprano Aria Et exsultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo, |
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my savior, |
| 3. Soprano Aria Quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae. Ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent |
Because he looked on his servant in her lowliness. For behold from now on will call me fortunate, |
| 4. Chorus Omnes generationes, |
All generations, |
| 5. Bass Aria Quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est, et sanctum nomen eius, |
Because he who is strong has done great things for me, and his name is holy, |
| 6. Alto, Tenor Aria Et misericordia a progenie in progenies timentibus eum. |
And his mercy extends from generation to generation to those who fear him. |
| 7. Chorus Fecit potentiam in bracchio suo, dispersit superbos mente cordis sui. |
He has used the power of his arm: he has scattered the haughty in their prideful thoughts. |

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and raised high the lowly. |

He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away empty. |

Mindful of his mercy, he has helped Israel his servant, |
| 11. Chorus Sicut locutus est ad patres nostros, Abraham et semini eius in saecula. |
As he promised to our forefathers Abraham and his descendants forever. |
| 12. Chorus Gloria Patri, gloria Filio, gloria et Spiritui Sancto, Sicut erat in principio et nunc et semper et in saecula saeculorum. Amen. |
Glory be to the Father, glory to the Son and glory to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and will be always, even for ages of ages. Amen. |
