O ihr lieben Hirten, fürchtet euch nicht! Siehe, ich verkündige euch Freude, grosse, Freude, die allen Völkern widerfahren wird. Freude, grosse Freude, o Freude! Denn euch ist heute der Heiland geboren, welcher ist Christus, der Herr. Fürchtet euch nicht! Freude, grosse Freude, o Freude! Denn euch ist heute der Heiland geboren, welcher ist Christus, der Herr. Freude, grosse Freude, o Freude! Und das habt zum Zeugnis: ihr werdet finden das Kind in Windeln gewickelt und einer Krippe liegen. Fürchtet euch nicht! Merk auf, mein Herz, und sieh dort hin: Was liegt dort in dem Krippelein? Wes ist das schöne Kindelein? Es ist das liebe Jesulein. Freude, grosse Freude, o Freude! Denn euch ist heute der Heiland geboren, welcher ist Christus, der Herr. Ehre sie Gott in der Höhe, Friede auf Erden, und den Menschen ein Wohlgefallen!	O dear shepherds, fear not!
