Executive Director Martha Westland brings a varied background to her position with the San Francisco Bach Choir. A native of the Boston area, she was a professional horn player then high tech project manager before returning to arts management. She has been a classical music announcer and arts reporter for Capitol Public Radio, and has taught at California State University Sacramento, San Francisco Conservatory Preparatory and Adult Extension Divisions, and the San Francisco Community Music Center. Other projects include working with archival material and exhibits at the Museum of Performance and Design, and coordinating a dance preservation video project for the Dance Heritage Coalition.

Ms. Westland completed the Emerging Leaders Program at the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership of Marin, and holds a PMP project management credential. She earned a M.Mus. from Northwestern University, as well as dual degrees in music performance and English Literature from Oberlin College and Conservatory. She lives with her family in Berkeley, CA.
