Be Part of an Enduring Legacy

Since 1936, the San Francisco Bach Choir has been a leader in the vibrant cultural life of the Bay Area. Pioneers from the start, SFBC performed the works of J.S. Bach in their entirety: a rarity at the time. SFBC continued to break ground as one of the first local choral groups to employ historically-informed performance practice and period-instrument orchestra. SFBC’s innovative spirit continues through its expansive repertoire, which now includes music from many periods and genres, and through new initiatives such as collaborations and commissions of new music written expressly for SFBC.

SFBC is committed to bringing people together through music. It builds bridges not only through high-quality performances of great choral music, but through events and programs that encourage participation and connection through a universal form of expression: singing.
