Equity Statement (adopted February 2021)

We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are crucial to the continued vibrancy of the San Francisco Bach Choir. We aim to pursue fresh ideas by creating an environment that welcomes and respects many perspectives, especially those that challenge our status quo.

We actively seek cultural equity through values, policies, and practices that ensure all kinds of people, including but not limited to those who historically have been marginalized, are fairly and inclusively represented in our audiences, the artists we engage and commission, our Board, administration, singers, volunteers, and staff.

We recognize that maintaining a welcoming community requires constant stewardship and enhancement through the challenging processes of self-examination, listening, learning, and adjustment. We commit to championing and reflecting the diverse world of choral music by ensuring just, equitable, and inclusive access to our programs and representation in our organization.
