A Demonstration of the Basset Horn

Do you know what a basset horn is? Our upcoming performance of the Mozart REQUIEM (May 4, SF; May 5, Berkeley) is a rare opportunity to hear this masterpiece played by an orchestra of period instruments, including this one. Here one of our players demonstrates the lovely tone color possibilities of this lesser known Classical instrument, a relative of the clarinet.
